I used them as a personal hitman for a while, by turn 73 I confederated all of Ulthuan and Chaos attacked the very next turn The whole island was split between me and Saphire or whatever that HE faction is called by turn 36. Tyrion had a very easy start, aside from a few tough battles where I was quite outnumbered early on. My ultimate campaign goal is to fullfill all the victory conditions via military alliances and occasional conquest The only problem is that farming influence is really annoying, I have a bunch of nobles that just use the secure influence action on Mousillon every turn. Around turn 100, when Malektih broke our truce, nine other factions with whom I have pacts with joined in to defend me. My new master plan is getting the newly reformed Empire to fight the Dwarfes, the Empire already dislike the Dwarfes now while the Dwarfes still have like a 250+ relations with the Empire because of fighting Chaos. Turn ~110 now, I finally forced Mazdamundi into upgrading our long-standing defensive alliance to a military alliance, been working on that the whole game by constantly getting them into war with other factions.

Influence makes the HE campaign really fun.

The dragons have nearly the same upkeep as phoenixes now with various global and army upkeep reductions, there's no incentive to ever recruit phoenixes, they're all tier 4 units You only need one turn to recruit all infantry units so there's very little reason to use anything else but swordsmasters, phoenixguards and dragons. The HE encourage you to build all-swordsmaster armies, all-dragon-armies and so on with their lord abilities and some heroes you can buy with influence. They make for good ranged support armies, but their melee is terrible even just at tying up units A while ago I lost a 1v1 custom battle against LM, which never happens usually. They're still the most fun gunline faction, until we get the Skaven DLC

I think grinding them out with GG or maybe Wraiths or just running over them with monsters are both viable startegiesĬlick to shrink.Empire got a wide range of cool artillery, guns and steamtanks. I haven't recruited normal Varghasts yet, but the Devils of Schwartzhafen are a mainstay in Mannfred's army and they can get some really high kill counts, surprisingly They tank just fine, but have low damage output. My armies currently mostly consist of Ghuls and Black Knights, because that was all I could raise until recently, but I do quite well with them, they were my bread and butter in game 1 tooĬrypt Horrors don't seem that great in game 2, I don't know. I'd take Grave Guard over Wraiths, especially with Mannfred's -10% faction wide upkeep reduction. You can get a Varghulf for less than two Cairn Wraith units, and those can tank five units and a lord for a quite some time and then run away when low on health, as just happened in a siege battle with a bugged gate (yet again). I have a nearly Cairn Wraith-only smaller army protecting the south, but I'm honestly not impressed - they win against longbeards 1v1, but very slowly and not that decisively. They can barely damage vampire heroes with 140+ armor, so that's another autoinclude (and +corruption spread is extremely important in ME). So far, Varghulfs have done really well against Dwarfs. My lords are built for maximum energy and overcasting death winds. Even Vlad declared war on me quite early in the game, when my original plan was to share the Old World between us, blehĬlick to shrink.the dwarf AI is nearly helpless against a VC lord on dragon. My only sort-of-allies, in the sense that they aren't at war with me right now, are what is left of Clan Moulder and Ostland. No idea what the South looks like, but the Orks were destroyed. Middenheim is currently not at war with me, but they really didn't like me conquering all but one of their settlements, and there's a suspiciously large army parked next to Altdorf. Sigmar and the last remnants of the Empire are threatening to take back Altdorf, but at least I just finished the wall there. The nortwest section is wide open, though, and I have enemy and soon-to-be enemy armies walking around there threatening Middenheim and surrounding settlements, which aren't walled yet. Mannfred is taking out the minor Dwarf faction that holds Wissenland, another lord is fighting back the Varg and taking Kislev, a third smaller stack is clearing the Dwarf fortresses south of Sylvana, and holding back an enemy army. I hastly created a fourth mini army to protect a small settlement with fully upgraded garrison and it's keeping them at bay, for now. There are only two Dwarf armies next to me at the moment. The only problem is that conquering Norsca territory with VC is totally not worth the trouble
